Our Mission

Tennessee in Teal is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide awareness, education and public outreach of the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer to help save lives. We provide support to those who have been diagnosed or have had this cancer.

This non-profit initiative is to educate people about the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer. Early detection and education of this cancer will allow women the opportunity to receive early treatment.

%

of women diagnosed in
early stages survive 5 years.

Early Detection is KEY

Ovarian cancer is the 5th leading cause of cancer related deaths in women and 1 in 75 women will get ovarian cancer. It is the deadliest of the gynecologic cancers. 93% of women diagnosed in early stages survive 5 years, yet less than 20% of women are diagnosed in early stages. There are no test or screening to detect this type of cancer.

OVARIAN CANCER Awareness

Stand Up to Ovarian Cancer

Tennessee in Teal has been very active in speaking to college sororities to educate them about the signs and symptoms. We host area “lunch & learns” to educate women and bring awareness as well as distribute literature with the signs and symptoms.

The fundraisers that Tennessee in Teal organize raise money to support awareness functions, help fund research foundations and assist local women and their families who are currently battling ovarian cancer.
