Hello everyone,
I went to the ER on February 7, 2021, with chronic pain in my abdomen. I had a CT scan which showed possibly 2 masses in my abdomen. The two masses were actually one mass that were pushing in between my organs as it grew.
I had emergency surgery on February 8, 2021, to remove a tumor that had engulfed my right ovary. It was 76 lbs. (tumor, ovaries, tubes, and uterus). I had a 14-inch incision with 55 staples.
Two sets of pathologists believed I had ovarian cancer. I started my first chemo on March 10, 2021. I had a port put in the day before my chemo on March 9, 2021.
I buried my father in December 2020 after he lost his fight with his cancers. I lost my boyfriend to a massive heart attack two days before my emergency surgery and diagnosis of ovarian cancer.
I have the blessings of my mom, kin, and friends who support me in my fight to live.
Dr Cofer put a port in me the day before my chemotherapy started. I had 6 sets of chemotherapy. One day of chemotherapy every 3 weeks. I finished in June 2021. On July 14, 2021, I was told I was cancer-free and have been cancer-free ever since. The port came out in May 2023.
Thank you for your time,
Lee Ann Gaddis
